I loved the central location of this place! It was super easy to walk to shops and restaurants, plus you're only a short stroll away from the fine lake. Free parking was a major plus, too, and the staff were friendly and cute. I also appreciated the clean accommodations; it made my stay feel more comfortable.
My room was a bit cramped, and the lack of a breakfast option was a bummer. I had expected something to kick off my day, but with so many places around, I guess it wasn't the biggest deal. Still, the room could’ve used a better view, as mine had a high window. it was okay but could definitely use some improvements!

We had a very lovely 3 nights stay. The staff was efficient and affable, took good care of everyone. The room was spotless, especially a splendid view of the mountains from the window. It had plenty of facilities, including an ironing set, coffee/tea makers and television etc.

A Good Stay in Ambleside
I was eager to visit the Ambleside Roman Fort, a historical site that fascinated me for its rich Roman heritage. Choosing Ferndale Lodge for its proximity to the fort was a great decision! To my pleasant surprise, the free WiFi allowed me to plan my daily activities effortlessly. The room-only basis of the accommodation provided total flexibility; I enjoyed leisurely mornings with a late brunch, making it easy to savor the beauty of the Lake District before heading out for my adventures.
Binmen early Thursday morning.

We had a wonderful stay at ferndale lodge. The room was not only clean but also offered a peaceful atmosphere that made our visit enjoyable. Rob, the owner, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, providing all the essentials and even extra drinks when we needed them. The generous amenities in the room and the excellent en-suite bathroom with a fantastic shower really added to the overall experience. Plus, the free parking at the back was a definite advantage.

Cozy stay with a lovely view!
We had such a nice weekend in Ambleside! The room was super spacious and clean, way bigger than I thought. Rob was an absolute gem, helped with balloons for my mum's bday and moved our car when we needed. Only thing was the parking access, a bit tricky. Perfect spot to chill and enjoy the scenery!

Ferndale lodge is in a perfect location, super close to everything in ambleside. The standard king room was warm, clean and had everything we needed, especially that big comfy bed. There was unlimited tea and coffee, a nice touch, and the shower was piping hot. Rob was a super nice host.
The car park is a bit small and kinda cramped, had issues parking. No breakfast included, but there are loads of places to eat nearby.

Just had a wonderful two-night stay and enjoyed the lovely views from my cozy room while sipping on free tea from the common area. There were great opportunities for relaxation with the garden seating and a cozy lounge to unwind in. The only slight hiccup was that parking was a bit tricky, so consider reaching out to the hotel beforehand for tips. 😊

Comfortable stay with great location
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. I particularly loved the full English breakfast, delicious and set me up for a long day of exploring. The central location is a big bonus, as it allowed easy access to local restaurants and attractions. One small downside was the cramped parking situation, which could be challenging during peak hours.

Staff were accommodating, particularly when they assisted with luggage up the stairs, a challenge for us. The location made it easy to explore, and the cleanliness of the space was excellent. The lack of included breakfast was a letdown, especially when you're out and about. The small bathroom made getting ready a bit cramped, although it was super clean.
